Concrete pierces the lake from the remains of the resort village, Pier breaks the swells of the smallest of the Grand Lakes. Markers direct the fishing vessels safely from the hunt, Gliding through the gates to their Eighteen mile home. And lovers feel the cool lake breeze, As the sun sets behind the Canadian city.

Fiery rays dance across the deep cold waters, As the sun dips behind the towers beyond the horizon. A V-formation glides slowly down to the choppy surface, Breaking at the last minute to a gentle landing. Honkers and gulls competing for common waters, The geese settle into a relaxing gathering under the setting sun.

Where Shaggy Bison Graze
Centuries before, the Thunder of the Plains ruled the highlands, Days passing one point, with rumble and dust covering the land. The People relied on the great beasts for simple livelihood, The newcomers slaughtered indiscriminately almost to destruction. Slowly, the Thunder returned in increasing numbers, And, once again, the shaggy bison graze on the high plains.
