Days shorten and leaves drop reluctantly below,
Leaving the stems naked to the cold December wind.
Even in Winter’s diminished light,
Sol gently warms what it can, angles off to do more.
Bursting its rays through the bare twigs,
Both limbs and ground gain the Sun’s stubborn effort.

In February, the tree is naked of its leafy clothing, allowing the bridge and the winter sun to peek through the branches.
